Charlie And The Borderlands2 Gun Factory

Ok, so it's not a chocolate factory, but it's that DAMN good we have to share this.

Gearbox Software made a forum post a few hours ago about the special Golden Key that is obtained via the Premiere Club with pre-ordered copies of Borderlands 2.
The Golden Key opens a "one use only" loot chest in the city of Sanctuary and contains scalable very rare (purple) weaponry/loot.

There will be only ONE chest and ONE key per pre-ordered game.

From the Gearbox forums, The Golden Chest.

"This is amazing!! Scaled weapons?!?!?!" Yes and no. The chest is scaleable, the weapons are not. The loot contained in the chest are suitable for your current level ONLY  and you only get ONE KEY.
You CAN however SELL the loot when you need to, the Golden Key can't be traded or sold.

Gearbox forces a tough decision on the player, do you get it at level 20 or do you wait it out until max level to claim and reap the rewards of your purchase?

In this bloggers honest opinion, there will be plenty of loot drops and I see this as a fantastic way to get level appropriate gear for questing as by the time you get to cap or near cap level, you should have found a few better weapons.

Borderlands 2 Mechromancer And More!

So the big news that hit yesterday was that the Mechromancer class (class number five) was given a release date of 16th October 2012.

The Mechromancer will be FREE for Premier Club members (available free with most pre-orders) and will be around $9.99 (800 MS points for XBox) after release for non-members.
Gaige the Mechromancer will have her very own robot mech and Gearbox have been saying her skill tree will provide extra bonuses for use with her mech such as skill stacking (staking bonuses) for things such as extra damage.

In other BL2 news, a few things have come to light that make us here VERY happy, you will be able to CUSTOM assign your controls so that you have your buttons where you want them (not like BL1 where tthe "use" button was not in the usual place of most games and took some time to get used to).
This opens up for a much better game play experience as you will be able to stick that use button where you want as well as still offering pre-set configurations.

The enemies you will be facing vary, but the big news around this is some monsters will "level up" if not killed straight away, this means if you hit one of these bad guys once, they grow and grow until they are potentially un-manigable and will tear through you and your party with ease.

Unlike the Borderlands 1 game, the environment is not set mainly in a desert, there will be icy tundas, lava filled regions and green flowing pastures to explore.

Borderlands2, You Got Dem Skills!

So, Borderlands 2 is mere days away and 2K Gmes/Gearbox is ramping up to Zero hour.

Four skill tree builders have been released so far over at http://www.borderlands2.com/us/

They are  Axton, Salvador, Zero and Maya.

Left clicking to add points is live, but the right click to remove it seems has yet to be added or being able to share your build with others, either way I'm getting more excited each day.

MOHW, We Are Excited!

EA is kicking things in to high gear as the latest Medal of Honour game is looking to be HUGE.
So far we have seen some of the game play and we like what we see!

Below is a fantastic video that takes you in to the world of war a bit further, talks about the detatchment soldiers need to have and how it is to be part of a team of SNIPERS.

His name is "Dog", a veteran of the Indonesia and Afghanistan theatres, Dog spent six years in the Australian Army, four of which were in Special Operations as an operator.

Counter Strike :Global Offensive review

Should you buy it? No.
Should you buy it for nostalgia of a "better more simple time of FPSs"? No.
Go buy Battlefield 3, you will enjoy it more. Yes, I'm serious.

Why? Server lag. Horrible aiming. Horrible weapon choices.

So Counter Strike is back, after many years of being AWOL, and brings NOTHING to the table.
I had hoped I would be writing this and proclaiming a rekindled love for the CS world. Well shit. Guess I was wrong.

The game on XBox Live during multiplayer lagged and dropped out more than those "cool kids" in every 80s movie that had a high school focus. The bots, yes it has bots to fill vacant team spots, make me WANT to play vs a whole team of campers in MW3.

This is the same issue I had with Duke Nukem 3D, IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD. In reality, it was a flop. It was a giant belly flop from an Olympic diving board.

Did the game have any redeeming features? No. Nothing about this game will make it even remotely able to keep up with the "big boys". Those being Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3.

I feel like I was just mugged for my shiny new sneakers by a ninety year old man with a limp in a golf cart. All while being handcuffed with a gimp gag in my mouth.

I feel dirty. I think I need a shower.

Superman Vs The Elite- Review

Should you watch this movie? Yes.
Is it the best animated movie DC has ever done? No.
Can the story be picked apart in the first ten minutes and the ending obvious? Not really.

Jumping right in, the animated movie starts with what I can only say is a throw back to psychadelic 70's feeling with art from the 40's era of the comics. Loud and explosive mono coloured I was at first wondering if the company DC used to package this movie up accidentally put the wrong Bluray in the case. We are so used to a modern credit roll of scenes from other animated series and movies, that this was a real shock to the system.

from here, the movie launches into a "pre-film" cartoon that was drawn like the old Roger Ramjet cartoons, that silly skinny legged big body style, making me think this was going to be a crap-tastic throw back movie where they try and do something they had not done before. Lucky they didn't, or this movie would have sucked worse than trying to hear Bane in TDKR.

The movie itself focuses on a group of super-powered humans from around the world, who have gotten together to "rights wrongs" and in the process, kill super bad guys outright. A no holds barred, screw anyone who gets in the way, collateral damage is acceptable type of story.

And really, it is amazing that DC pulled this off as a PG13 considering the side bad guy, Atomic Skull, starts the movie off by killing a whole heap of people.

The main "good guy" is a Brittish "super hero" named Manchester Black, a psychopathic killer who really from the get go has you thinking "something with this guy just isn't right", even though the writer had tried to mask it as best he could. Eventually when you find out what The Elite is up to, you already know.
Hearing him say "wanker" so many times and also Superman saying it once was also a bit of a shock, a word that used to be considered a swear word, being used as though it was some kind of comical catch phrase.

Louis is featured more heavily in this story, this time around, and she is not the Louis we all know, she is actually on The Elite's side and tells Superman that he is basically outdated for modern times, that he SHOULD take that one step over the line and kill bad guys so they can't escape over and over. Clark seems like he is losing hope with Earth as everyone starts to turn on him and call for him to take life, something he would NEVER do.

I won't spoil the ending, but I will say it is the one thing about this movie that will shock you, the way that the ending is done provides for a huge twitst. DC seemed to be trying to say something about how the world is at the moment, but the message is lost in translation.

All in all, the movie is entertaining, but not anywhere near as great as other animated movies featuring a full cast of the Justice League.
